Celebrating National Garden Week

Millen Garden Council Celebrated National Garden Week with a morning at Jenkins County Senior Center. Members from Green Thumb and Millen Garden Clubs shared a program entitled “Gardening with Seniors.” Jerry Messex, Green Thumb, owner of Affordable Daylilies talked about the planting and care of daylilies. Art Johnson, Millen Garden Club, spoke about wildflowers she grows in her garden. Both speakers gave away plants as door prizes. Posters,  “Victory Gardens” and “Planting for Pollinators” were exhibited at Jenkins County Library during the week along with a flower arrangement.
