On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, Dogwood District held their 63rdFall Meeting at the Dunwoody Country Club. This Director wishes to thank all the members who participated in this meeting. It was a fun getting to see everyone in person and it looked like you were having a good time reconnecting with old friends. We were honored to have two guest speakers, co-authors Jennifer Richardson and Spencer Tunnell who gave us some great information from their book-Olmsted’s Linear Park. Thank you to Sandy Kruger, president of Druid Hills Garden club for making this possible. Thank you to our Garden Club of Georgia President, Peggy Tucker for attending our luncheon as the honored guest. She always has a smile and words of encouragement to all with whom she comes in contact. At the luncheon the following Dogwood District special awards were announced by our Dogwood Awards chairman Marianne McConnel:

  • Dogwood District Club of the Year 2021 – Norcross Garden Club. This award is given to the club which scored the highest number of points on the 2021 annual president’s report of club achievements
  • The 2022 Dynamic Dogwood Award – Suze Crowe–for her dedicated work with Roswell Garden Club on their Blue Star and Gold Star Marker projects.
  • The 2022 District Woman of the Year Award – Carolyn Herndon – for her dedicated work with Dogwood District, GCG and Roswell Garden Club.
