North Georgia Camellia Society Meeting
November 9 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The next meeting of the North Georgia Camellia Society will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, with Mark Crawford, owner of Loch Laurel Nursery in Valdosta, as our special guest speaker. In addition to specializing in camellias, citrus, and other special plants and having developed the “First Ladies Collection”, Mark is the chair of the horticulture committee for the American Camellia Society based in Ft. Valley, GA. In this capacity he has been working with a nursery in China to import a totally new type of camellia into the US. What is special about these camellias is that they bloom in the summer rather than the fall and winter of typical camellias. Mark will give us an update on the “Four Season Camellias” and the joint efforts with the Chinese to cultivate them in the U.S. and make them available for sale here. He’ll also answer your other questions about growing camellias.
Please note the special time and location for this meeting: 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Lost Corner Preserve in Sandy Springs. The address is 7300 Brandon Mill Rd NW, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. We welcome MGEVs and other gardening friends.
