SHARON – RAYTOWN GARDEN CLUB

120 Year Anniversary Celebration
The Sharon-Raytown Garden Club was organized on February 21, 1903. The community of Sharon – Raytown is located in Taliaferro County Georgia. It is the second oldest continuous garden club in the U.S.A. and remained active through both World War I and World War II.
Miss Lillis Barnett was living in Athens with her friend who organized “The Ladies Garden Club”, the oldest in the U.S.A. in Athens, Georgia. When she returned home from teaching, she organized our Club with twelve (12) Charter members.
On February 26th, 2023, Sharon-Raytown Garden Club hosted a 120 Year Anniversary Celebration. Here are a few photos from that day.
